OUR PHILOSOPHY

Learning during the first six years is vital.  Patterns and expectations of success should be established for your child during these years to create a climate of confidence for his/her present and future learning efforts and overall development.  Sensory, motor, perceptual, and language skills are introduced through materials and activities which are child-centered and teacher-directed.  Activities are planned which emphasize the process rather than the product.
Based on the theory that children learn through play, classroom routines encourage active movement, meaningful experimentation, and reinforcement through repitition.  Schedules are designed to balance structure and free choice, as well as, active and quiet times.  The staff of ECLC is committed to this concept. We will provide opportunities for your child to explore the environment and interact with adults and peers in a nurturing atmosphere.
A natural love for children combined with sensitivity and skills as teachers will result in effective inquisitiveness in order to enhance mental processes and skills.  The ECLC staff hopes to establish a partnership with you that fosters your child's maximum development.

A happy, well-rounded personality is our goal for your child.
